The knife's stout aluminum handle takes a beating whether it's banging against a rack of cams all day or getting raked along the sandstone walls of a slot canyon. The large loop at the end of the handle is intended to slip over a carabiner, and the secure locking mechanism keeps the blade secure so it doesn't inadvertently open when it's clipped to a harness.
