While tree landings are typically not intentional, sometimes they can’t be avoided. When caught in a tree escaping to the ground can be dangerous. This is especially true if rescue or the proper equipment is not available. Firefly Para self egress system was designed for these situations.

Our intent was to create a safe means of self tree egress that was also easy to use, small, and lightweight. So small and light that it wouldn’t be noticed until needed. Years of research, development, and testing has gone into the Firefly. It is a combination of 3.6mm rope made of very high strength braided Technora, with a proprietary autolocking descent control device.

The kit comes with everything required to anchor to the tree or the risers, escape the paraglider or parachute harness, and descend under control to the ground. The kit comes standard with a 20m rope, though longer lengths may be possible for special circumstances. It also includes an emergency harness and anchoring sling. The descent control device will provide a controlled descent with up to a 265 lbs. working load.
