CTOMS CanineMed programs provide handlers and medics with the skills and knowledge required to effectively operate alongside working dogs in tactical, search and rescue, and operational medical environments. Training focuses on safe canine integration, casualty management, handler coordination, and medical response in high-stress or dynamic situations involving operational working dogs.
CanineMed courses include both Handler and Medic-level training, providing progressive instruction for personnel responsible for canine operations and medical support. Emphasis is placed on practical application, canine safety, casualty assessment, and effective teamwork between the handler, medic, and working dog during operational or emergency scenarios.
Formal, hands-on training is strongly recommended to ensure personnel can confidently and safely integrate working dogs into medical, tactical, and rescue operations while maintaining operational effectiveness.
